The recent publication carried out by KIPO concludes a study “Providing Information on How TM5 Members Describe Goods and Services” by collecting and comparing each jurisdiction’s examination guidelines on acceptable identifications of goods and services and databases related thereto. The document contains valuable information from TM5 Partners on their practice regarding the use of class headings, punctuation marks, unclear terms, long lists, comprehensive indications, refusal of trade marks as product identifications, among other things. With this study TM5 Partners aim to help applicants avoid deficiencies resulting from the incorrect identification of goods and services.
