The TM5 Common Status Descriptors (CSD) project was designed to provide trade mark owners with quick, visual information in the form of a red or green icon about the status of a particular trade mark application or registration. In addition to the TM5 Partners, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and WIPO have also implemented the icons. Given the success of the project, the USPTO and KIPO will create a request system on the TM5 website for interested IP offices to learn more about how to integrate the common status descriptors into their databases.
