TM5 Bad Faith seminar in the Philippines

On 15 February 2023, the TM5 Partners held another webinar under the TM5 Bad Faith Trademark Project led by JPO, this time with the involvement of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). IPOPHL Director General Mr. Rowel S. Barba provided opening remarks and Director Jesan Ros participated in the workshop.

This event builds on the success of last year’s seminar organised for the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Indonesia with the aim to discuss bad faith filings and actions available to IP offices to combat them. Officers and examiners of IPOPHL learned about the different laws and practices applied in each TM5 jurisdiction to address bad faith trade mark filings and held engaging discussions on the subject. The workshop was organised by JPO, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Singapore/Bangkok and the IPOPHL.
